Home lock work, done at your house

Most home lock problems fall into three groups: getting in, controlling who has keys, and fixing or upgrading hardware. We handle all three on site.

Before we open any home, we verify you are authorized to be there. We do not necessarily require a utility bill, but we do confirm authorization before opening anything.

Rekey, replace, or repair?

Our rekey vs. replace guide explains the trade-offs in more detail.

How ordering works

  1. Pick the service. Choose from the list above, or describe the problem if you are unsure.
  2. Tell us where and what. Add your location and the details that affect the job.
  3. Check the price and deposit. You see the standard price and any after-hours or holiday multiplier before you pay the deposit.
  4. We dispatch. A technician confirms authorization on arrival and explains any change in scope before doing extra work.

What does residential locksmith service cost?

Each service has its own standard price, quoted before dispatch and confirmed before work begins. Online orders pay the $15–$25 service call at checkout as the deposit: $15 inside city limits, $25 outside. It is a flat fee added to the service price, and the time-of-day multipliers never apply to it. The time of the call sets the multiplier:

  • Before 8 PM: standard
  • After 8 PM: 1.5×
  • Federal holidays: 2×
  • Federal holiday after 8 PM: 3×

Multipliers apply to the standard service price only; the $15 (inside city limits) or $25 (outside city limits) service call stays flat at any hour. Holidays are U.S. federal holidays.

Residential services FAQ

Should I rekey or change locks after moving into a new home?

Rekey if the existing locks are in good shape; it is usually the more economical way to make previous keys stop working. Replace if the hardware is worn or you want an upgrade.

Can all my house doors use one key?

Usually, if the locks share a compatible keyway. We can rekey them alike, or replace a mismatched lock so it can be.

Do you work for renters?

Yes for lockouts after verifying authorization. For lock changes, check your lease and your landlord's approval first.

Can you install a lock I bought myself?

In most cases. Tell us the brand and model when ordering so we can confirm fit with your door before dispatch.

Do I need to be home for the visit?

For lockouts and lock changes, yes, or an authorized person must be present.
