Who we are
Instant Locksmith TN provides mobile locksmith service for vehicles, homes and businesses across Middle Tennessee, from Nashville out to Clarksville, Columbia, Tullahoma and Cookeville, including rural areas of Maury, Bedford, Robertson and Dickson counties. Qualified locksmith professionals do the work on site. We are a mobile, service-area business with no walk-in storefront, so there is no shop to drive to. Our technicians are strategically placed across the service area for efficiency, with one based in Murfreesboro. We don't serve Kentucky addresses.
The company was built with access to investigative verification resources, which shapes how carefully we confirm who is allowed into a car, home or business.
Why we started
Locksmith pricing is hard to read. Search for a locksmith and you will often see a "service call" figure as low as $19, which is the trip charge, not the job; the real total appears once the technician is standing at your door. Our locksmith scams guide explains how that bait pricing works.
Someone locked out of their car at night, or standing in the driveway with a toddler, deserves a straight answer instead. That is the gap Instant Locksmith TN was set up to fill.
Why affordability matters
A lockout or a lost key is rarely planned for. We aim to be competitively priced and, just as important, predictable: you can look up the standard price for a service and work out what a late-night or holiday call will cost before you need it.
When cost matters, we'll also tell you about the less expensive route, such as rekeying instead of replacing locks, or a spare car key made now instead of an all-keys-lost job later.
Why emergency response matters
Many locksmith calls are urgent: a car running with the keys inside, a door that won't lock after a break-in, a family locked out in the cold. Inside city limits in Nashville, Murfreesboro, Franklin, Brentwood, Smyrna, La Vergne, Hendersonville, Gallatin, Spring Hill, Mount Juliet, Goodlettsville, Nolensville, White House and Fairview we generally aim to deploy within about one hour. That is a goal, not a guarantee; demand, traffic, weather and distance affect it, and for farther cities we give you an honest estimate before you pay.
We answer 24/7/365 at (707) 653-6152, including late nights, weekends and holidays. See emergency locksmith service.
How we operate
- You order online or by phone. The online order walks you through service, location and a description of the problem.
- You see the price first. The standard price and any after-hours or holiday multiplier are shown before you commit.
- The service call is paid up front as the deposit. It is $15 inside city limits or $25 outside, paid at checkout online (phone orders pay it up front too), and is a flat fee on top of the service price. See our Payment & Deposit Policy.
- A technician comes to you. We're mobile, so the work happens where the car, home or business is.
- Authorization is confirmed, then the work starts. If the job turns out different from what was described, you approve any change before we continue.
Our pricing rules, in plain view
Every service has a standard price: car lockouts start at $55, house lockouts at $80, rekeying is $55 per cylinder, and other services are quoted before dispatch (see our pricing page). The only things that change it are when you order, distance, or a job that turns out different from what was described:
- Ordered 7 AM–8 PM: standard
- Ordered 8 PM–7 AM: 1.5×
- Federal holidays: 2×
- Federal holiday, ordered 8 PM–7 AM: 3×
Multipliers apply to the job (service, labor and parts); the $15 (inside city limits) or $25 (outside city limits) service call and the $1.25/mile mileage fee beyond 5 miles from the nearest served city's center stay flat. No weekend surcharge. Holidays are U.S. federal holidays, on both the calendar date and the observed weekday.
What makes us different
Published pricing, multipliers included
Many locksmiths quote only after arriving. We publish our lockout starting prices, our $15–$25 service call and the exact after-hours and holiday multipliers, and quote everything else before dispatch.
Online ordering
You can order, see the price and pay the $15–$25 service-call deposit without waiting on hold, which helps when you're stuck somewhere loud or late.
Investigative verification resources
Our access to investigative verification resources gives us an unusual additional capability when identity or ownership needs to be confirmed. See how we verify.
ILT Lifesaver
Free emergency entry when a child, pet or at-risk adult is trapped in a vehicle or residence and the technician confirms their life is in immediate danger. It covers homes as well as cars, and anyone may report it. Learn about ILT Lifesaver.
What we won't do
- Open a car, home, business, safe or storage unit without confirming the person asking is authorized — that means direct confirmation from a business's managing member or owner, storage-facility authorization or rental paperwork, and a parent or guardian for anyone under 18.
- Change a tenant's locks without landlord or manager authorization, or break state law for anyone.
- Copy any government-issued key. (“Do Not Duplicate” keys are copied only with permission.)
- Start work before you have approved the price.
- Add extra work or parts without explaining why and getting your approval.
- Quote a low "service call" number and leave the real price for later.
